The first thing to think about is what do you need it for, are you doing track days & spirited drives, do you want cheap lows or comfort and a subtle drop.

Budget is the second discussion as cheap coilovers will be short lives where as a similar price shock and spring set will have a good longevity.

​

If you intend on keeping the car for a long time also consider aftercare, certain companies that are not UK based may not offer a fast turn around on rebuilds if at all, where as GAZ shocks can offer a fast local turn around and effectively can last forever.
